Directorate General of Financial Development of the Ministry of Finance stated that Banjarbaru's locally generated revenue (PAD) was the highest compared to other cities throughout Indonesia in 2023.
"Alhamdulillah, the realization of Banjarbaru budget (APBD) revenue was the highest and all of this cannot be separated from the support of all level of the city government," said Mayor Muhammad Aditya Mufti Ariffin here, Wednesday.
The directorate general data which was released on January 19, 2024 showed the Banjarbaru City Government posted the 2023 budget realization reaching 114.96 percent or the highest in Indonesia.
The data also placed Banjarbaru in the highest ranking among the Top 10 regions out of a total of 20 regions with high income realization as assessed by the Indonesian Finance Ministry.
"The success of realizing income with the highest perentage for two years in a row demonstrated consistency of all level of the city government, of course we are very grateful," said Aditya.
One form of the consistency from Banjarbaru government, he said, focus on encouraging an increase in locally generated revenue (PAD) as the main source of regional income, so that the final results can be maximally realized.
"Last year, the realization of Banjarbaru's budget revenue realization reached 114.41 percent or exceeded the target and also ranked highest compared to other cities inIndonesia," he said.
It is known that PAD is a source of regional income originating from regional, taxes, regional levies, results of regional wealth management, and other legitimate regional income.
PAD also has an important role as indicator to measure regional independence and performance of regional heads. The greater the PAD, the lower the level of regional government dependence on the central government.
