The South Kalimantan Civil Registration and Population Office (Disdukcapil) is now intensifying digital ID (KTP digital) activation in 2024.

Head of the South Kalimantan Disdukcapil Zulkifli in Banjarbaru, Monday (January 8, 2024), said that residents in 13 districts and cities in the province should continue to be encouraged to activate digital ID or to submit for digital population identity (IKD).

The changing of population identity from physical to digital is one of the government's efforts to accelerate digital transformation.

The service to activate digital ID through smartphone or gadget is provided since last year with a target of 25 percent of the polulation who already have electronic ID (e-KTP).

"We even carry out pick-up the ball action," he said.

Zulkifli said that the infrastructure at the Disdukcapil both at the district and city level are all ready, and people can directly come to the local Disdukcapil to activate ID.

“Tools for activating ID are all ready, people can go directly to Disdukcapil or local public service mall (MPP) by having smartphone to carry out activation,” he said.

Not only KTPs, he continued, family card data is also recorded on the IKD (digital ID), it is to make it easier for residents to handle administrative matters.

In contrast to e-KTP, Zulkifli assured that the data recorded on IKD will not be mixed up or duplicated, it requires a special PIN to access it.

“In addition, the changing of population data fromphysical to digital helps the government to streamline the budget, especialy related to procurement of e-KTP blanks," he expounded.

To protect the security of population data, Zulkifli explained, his party has signed MoUs with a number of agencies that utilize NIK data for their work program.

"This is our anticipatory steps so that population data is not spread and misused," he said.
