Yayasan Adaro Bangun Negeri (YABN) or Adaro Foundation distributed glasses assistance for school children at SD Negeri Mabuun 1, Murung Pudak Sub-district, Tabalong District, South Kalimantan.

Childen were asked to fill out list before receiving free glasses from YABN team witnessed by a number of teachers.

Nur Aulia from Class 4A was the first to receive the free glasses from Adaro Aksa Terang (sharpen vision) Program to help overcome refractive disorders for students and teachers in Tabalong District.

This program was launched by PT Adaro Energy Indonesia and YABN in collaboration with the Indonesian Ophthalmologist Association-Section for Refractive Disorders (PERDAMI-SPGR).

Smiling happily, Aulia immediately put on the minus glasses she received and sat back down to join other students who were waiting for their turn.

When asked, Aulia said now she could see more clearly with the help of myopia glasses and did not feel shame.

"Now it's clearer than before when sitting in the back the writing on the backboard looked blurry," said Aulia.

Apart from Aulia, 54 students at elementary school SD Negeri Mabuun 1 received free glasses after previously undergoing eye examination for grade 4, 5 and 6 by teachers who have been provided with early detection for eye refractive disorders by PERDAMI facilitated by YABN.

In addition to SD Negeri Mabuun 1, YABN team through Adaro Nyalakan Raga (Adaro Ignites Wellbeing) program distributed free glasses to SD Negeri Pembataan 2, Murung Pudak Subdistrict, and 80 students receiving the aid, last Friday.

"We hope that by providing these glasses we can improve the quality of life and maximize the potential of elementaru school age children in their daily activities," said Mudmainah from YABN 's Adaro Nyalakan Raga in Tabalong, Saturday.

This year, the free glasses assistance targets eight schools in Tabalong with a total recipient of 307 students and teachers.
