Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf)Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno urges the Provincial Government South Kalimantan to bolster its tourism potential.
“I see South Kalimantan has a lot of tourism potential, from natural, culture, to religious tourism,” said Uno in a written statement received here on Saturday.
Uno said this at the launch of the 2024 Calender of Event (CoE) held by the South Kalimantan Tourism Office in Semarang City, Central Java, Friday ( Nov 3, 2023).
“I want this CoE launch could increase tourist visits to improve the welfare of the people in South Kalimantan,” he said.
CoE launch in Semarang City, according to him, is the right step to introduce the tourism potential of South Kalimantan to all Indonesian people. Especially sincce it has a quite complete tourism, from nature, culture to religious.

He suggested South Kalimantan to apply the 3G jargon in promoting tourism, namely gercep, geber, and gaspol which stand for moving quickly, moving together, and working on all.
Acting Assistant for Government and People's Welfare Nurul Fajar Desira said that the launch of CoE promoting tourism which is the focus of south Kalimantan's 2024 tourism agenda.
He said this effort was very appropriate so south Kalimantan tourism would become increasingly well known on the national and international stage.
Head of South Kalimantan Tourism Office Syarifuddin expounded CoE launch was a yearly agenda to introduce and promote South Kalimantan outside the region.
Now, he said, South Kalimantan is the gateway to the National Capital City (IKN) of Nusantara, so it is necessary to develop tourism potential to prepare itself asa buffer for IKN.
“South Kalimantan has beatiful tourism sources and has a character that is worthy of being promoted,” said Syarifuddin.
