Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Floods have again struck Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) District, South Kalimantan, inundating thousands of homes in Batu Benawa, Barabai and Pandawan sub-districts.
"Our team is still monitoring the situation in the field. Water levells vary," said Head of Emergency and Logistics for HST Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) in Barabai, Monday.
Several public facilities, including schools, places or worship, and government offices were also affected by the floods.
The flooding was triggered by heavy rain since early morning causing river to overflow and inundated roads, yards and homes with varying levels of water.
Fitriadi said flooding in Batu Benawa has gradually receded, but remain unchanged and tended to rise both in Barabai and Pandawan sub-districts.
"No report of fatalities or inuries due to the flooding," he said.

Officers are still collecting data and monitoring situation in the field, as water levels in several areas are still fluctuating.
In Batu Benawa, two villages were affected: Aluan Besar Village with 373 houses and 373 families or 1.029 people, water level 20–40 centimeters, and in Paya Besar Village 281 homes with 300 families affected by floodwaters reaching 10–60 centimeters.
In Barabai Sub-district, Barabai Darat Urban Village 650 homes with 650 families or 1,097 people affected.
In Barabai Timur Urban Village 160 houses home to 380 people were affected with water level 50 centimeters in the house.

In Barabai Selatan Urban Village 59 homes with 187 people were affected, with water levels 15–45 centimeters.
In Barabai Utara Urban Village 73 houses with 224 people were affected. Water level 50 centimeters.
142 homes with 390 residents were affected in Bukat Urban Village. Water level 30 centimeters.
Then, 40 homes inhabited by 133 people were affected in Mandingin Village. In Pajukungan Village 28 homes affected by flood with water level 50 centimeters.
Meanwhile, in Pandawan Sub-district, 39 houses in Kayu Rabah Village were also affected by floodwater.
391 houses with 1,344 people in Jaranih Village, 227 houses with 690 residents in Masiraan Village and in Palajau Village 26 houses were affected with water level reaching 25 centimeters.
