Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 13 inmates from the Maburai Correctional Institution in Sub-district of Murung Pudak, Tabalong, South Kalimantan, participated in the inaugural planting paddy in the village of the District Jirak Pugaan.


Maburai Prison head Teguh Suroso in Tanjung on Friday said the involvement of 13 inmates was part of the coaching program and reintegration into society.

"They who participated in the inaugural planting of rice were inmates whose remaining term of imprisonment less than one month. They needs a guidance to be self-employed in the future," said Teguh.

The Inaugural paddy planting in the village of Jirak, Pugaan Sub-district held by Resort Military Command (Korem) 101/ Antasari together with District Military Command (Kodim) 1008/ Tanjung was part of the making of paddy fields program in the region.

The inmates mingled with local people, members of the military and a number of officials in the local government Tabalong. They participating in the inaugural planting of rice in the location.

Teguh added the melting pot of the inmates and the public at least be provision if eventually out of prison so they can socialize well.

The rice planting activity was attended by Resort Military Commander (Danrem) 101/Antasari Colonel Kav, Adil  Januar, District Military Commander (Dandim) 101 / Tanjung  Lt. Col. Arm Anang Krisna Indra Kumara and the Regional Secretary Abdul Muttalib Sangadji.

Also present were the Head of South Kalimantan Food Crops and Horticulture Agency Fathurrahman and Chairman of the Tabalong Legislative Council Darwin Awi.
