South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H Achmad Fikry has launched the state junior high school SMPN 1 Kandangan as Indonesia Digital School (SDI) pilot project.

Principal of SMPN 1 Kandangan Hj Roos Anita here on Wednesday said SDI has several features than can be applied, one of which is e-presence.

"Later on, our children's attendance list will be connected to active parents' WhatsApp, so they can see what time the children come and go home from school," she said as quoted in HSS Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) press release.

E-presence aims to instill positive character of discipline toward children, and extra activities also include re-tapping.

In addition to e-presence, there is also e-library and LMS, here children will try an exam using LMS in SDI features.

HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry welcome the pilot project and expected that other schools can imitate SMPN 1 Kandangan.

"Many benefits have been conveyed ealier. With SDI the movements of our children at school can be monitored by parents, including an easy library and others," he said.

He also thanked the Principal of SMPN 1 Kandangan for the innovation in using technology to advance education, this is in line with the government proggram of SPBE.

In the series of activities, the regent as the alumni coordinator inaugurated gazebo from 2023 alumni. He was accompanied by HSS DPRD Chairman H Akhmad Fahmi and HSS Regional Secretary H. M. Noor.
