Chief Executive of South Kalimantan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Raden Suria Fadliansyah stated that the respective Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) have extinguished forest and land fires in two districts and a city.
“All fire points have been stamped out by the TRC of the (respective) district and city BPBD,” he said, Thursday.
Suria informed that last Wednesday forest and land fires spread across two districts and a city at once, namely in Tanah Laut District with an estimated area of 3 hectares, then two different locations in the priority area of ring one of Syamsudin Noor Internatinal Airport in Banjarbaru about 3 hectares, and in Banjar District around one hectare.
The fire information, he said, was obtained from the South Kalimantan BPBD's Patrol Team as well as the respective district and city.
Based on the information, Suria said, the BPBD's Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) went down to the different locations of fires.

Previously, Disaster Management Operations Control Center(Pusdalops-PB) of the South Kalimantan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD Kalsel) has reported that fires have so far engulfed 132 hectares areas in the province.
“We have deployed field fire team to the maximum to control forest and land fires,” said Raden Suria Fadliansyah when confirmed in Banjarbaru, Thursday.
Manager of Pusdalops-PB Ricky Ferdyanto revealed that fires hit South Kalimantan with an estimated area of around 132 hectares, with a total 2.1 thousand hotspots spread over 13 districts and cities.
“Pusdalops conducts monitoring through radio repeater communication devices,” he said.
He expounded that the most widespread fires are in Banjarbaru City and Tanah laut District, each with more than 60 hectares of burned areas.
A BPBD TRC member Mohammad Rijali said that fires hit Tanah Laut again this afternoon (Thursday).
“It canot be ascertained how wide it is, but according to the information of patrol team it is quite extensive,” he said.
He said that a team has been deployed to the field, while a part of South Kalimantan BPBD team guarding ring one, the priority area for fire handling, Syamsudin Noor Airport area.
