President of Indonesia Joko Widodo or Jokowi presented Satyalancana Wira Karya, an award of honor in agriculture, to the Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor.
Satyalancana Wira Karya was pinned by Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo to Governor Sahbirin Noor at the XVI Indonesian Farmers and Fishers National Week (Penas Tani) at the Sutan Sjahrir Air Base, Padang, West Sumatra, on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
"The Presiden's award to the governor was handed over (pinned) by Minister of Agriculture Syahril Yasin Limpo," Head of the Administrative Bureau for the Leadership of the Regional Secretariat of the Province of South Kalimantan Berkatullah said here.
The Governor, he said, expressed his gratitude to President Jokowi for the award of honor, Satyalancana Wira Karya.
The award, he added, will be a spirit for the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan to continue it works to advance agriculture and husbandry.
The success was referred to as a form of commitment and idea of successful innovation of cattle-palm oil integration system based on parnership busineess of plasma husbandry (Siska Ku Intip).
"This program is a synergy to increase production and population of cattle by using core-plasma oil palm land, utilizing palm oil industry waste and frond for animal feed, strengthening financing with palm oil plantation, and strengthening chain of livestock supply and products," Sahbirin pointed out.
Finally, 20 clusters of Siska Ku Intip for supply availability have been formed spread across four districts, namely Tanah Bumbu, Tanah Laut, Barito Kuala, and Tabalong.
With Siska Ku Intip, cost of beef production becomes more affordable, meets the price affordability indicator, more efficient at 57.37 percent compared to conventional beef, thus it is able to provide beef at below market price.
"After the Siska Ku Intip program, the cattle production pattern turn out to be low cost, because it make use of food source in the oil palm plantation," said the man who is familiarly called Uncle Birin.
