South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Andi Rian R Djajadi confirmed no hotspots have been detected to cause forest and land fire in the province.
"Until today, neither through Bekantan application or manually reported by our members in the field, no hotspots have been detected," said the Police Chief in Banjarmasin, Friday.
So far, what has been detected through exterminate forest and land fire (Bekantan) application belonging to Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation were only fake hotspots.
For example, the iron roofing of a building or resident's house that emitted sunlight causing heat to be detected as hotspot.
"As we know, even though the weather feel hot during the day, sometimes it still rains, and that turned out hotspots," said Andi.
However, the South Kalimantan Police Chief pointed out that the police are ready to deal with forest and land fire with the preparedness of personnel and supporting equipment.
South Kalimantan Police even operates unmanned aircraft(UAV) or sophisticated drone to monitor forest and land fires with precise detection of hotspots.

BMKG prediction for this year, said the Police Chief, the weather expected to be hotter that the previous years. Thus the potential threat of forest and land fires must be watched out for early.
"We also warning plantation companies that have large enough land not to cause forest and land fire, let alone deliberately set fire to face our legal process," he said.
