Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Ilung (water hyacinth) and purun (mash grass) crafter in North Hulu Sungai, South Kalimantan, supplying Bali with his products over the last five years.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God) in the last five years we always fulfill orders from Bali employers, who are interested in the purun and ilung craft from Amuntai," said Supian Nor, owner of Kembang Ilung business in the village of Banyu Hirang, South Amuntai, Wednesday.

Supian said orders from Bali nearly a thousand pieces of purun and ilung woven handicraft per month.

"Thankfully we are assisted by other craftsmen we have been fostered, so as to fulfill orders from Bali," he said.

Dozens of artisans in other sub-districts have been scouted by Supian through Anpulung Cluster program built by Bank Indonesia.

However, Kembang Ilung that stood since 2005 is still considered weak in terms of administration as stated by the assessment team of Family Welfare Income Business (UPPKS) competition of South Kalimantan BKKBN representatives Office.

"Foresight and craftsman effort by Kembang Ilung utilizing local natural resources is an example, but the weakness of the craft is still located in the administrative aspects of their business," said Head of KSPK of BKKBN Representative, Mila Rahmawati.

Mila hope, the craftsmen give more attention to the administrative aspects that coaching and evaluation of progress of the business could be done.
