Banjarmasin,  (Antaranews Kalsel) - Head of the Sanitation Agency Mukhyar revealed Banjarmasin will minimize waste disposal to the regional final disposal (landfill) Banjarbaru.

"If the regional landfill in the area of Cempaka, Banjarbaru, is operated, we are trying to discharge a minimal," he said here on Friday.

According to him, only waste that really no longer used to be sent to the regional landfill later, because the distance is far enough.

"The cost of trasportation big enough too, if we dump there, so we have to economize," said Mukhyar.

Currently, he said, the discussion regarding the size of each area should dispose their waste to the regional landfill is still not defined, while waiting the plans to delmit the minimum and maximum size.

"We are not agree if there is a minimum limit, because it is tantamount requires every day to dump there," he explained.

In fact, he said, his municipal goverment planning is not every day to dump garbage overthere in considerable of cost.

Mukhyar states, his region strongly supports the regional landfill, because the capacity of Banjarmasin City Government owned landfill in Basirih began to narrow and is forecasted to be overfilled in a few years later.

"Understandably our production of waste in the area reached 600 tonnes, almost half ot them dispose to the landfill, that why it full," said Mukhyar.
