The City Government of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, has readied 42 tourism events to attract tourists in 2023.
Head of the Banjarmasin Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports Office Iwan Fitriadi here on Tuesday (Dec 13, 2022) said that the 42 activities are included in the tourism marketing program.
"Either those events are organized by the city government, private, or by communities," he said.
All, he continued, are gathered in the effort to attract tourists, both domestic and foreign.
According to Iwan, one of the leading events to be held in 2023 is the Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival (BSF).
"BSF which is routinely held has entered 100 national events," he said.
BSF, which is also supported by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry (Kemenparekraf), strived to be listed in the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN).
"The profit is it will be promoted worldwide by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry," he pointed out.
Meanwhile, the 42 events of tourism for the 2023 have been launched by Mayor of Banjarmasin H Ibnu Sina on Saturday (Dec 10, 2022).
The Mayor said the launch of the dozens of events was the manifestation of the city's readiness to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and embracing the tourists who wil visit this city.
"We are optimistic that the pandemic will end soon, especially with the recovery of tourism sector there will be many tourism people and residents will get help. Of course this will get our economy back on track," he said.
Banjarmasin City offers several leading attraction, they are including floating markets, the Martapura River embankment, river cruising, beside religious objects of tourism.
