Kotabaru Food Task Force has ensured that there is sufficient stock of basic commodities in all markets and distributors until Eid al-Fitr 1443 H.

Assistant II for Economy and Development of Kotabaru Administration Akhmad Rivai here on Saturday said that there are still enough basic food in all market, so people don't have to worry about scarcity.

"We, together with the Kotabaru food security task force team have monitored basic food in all distributors, Alhamdulillah they all stated they are safe and prices have not increased significantly," he said.

The distributors, he explained, a few weeks ago had added stock in preparation of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1443 H, as in previous years.

Especially Bulog Kotabaru have prepared 80 tons of cooking oil, rice, and sugar stocks ready to be distributed to traders and the public.

Other basic commodities, such as flour, are still safe, even in excess of the previous months.

Meanwhile, Head Production of Sime Derby Oils Kotabaru, Winardy Narianto, welcomed the arrival of the task force to directly check the stock of cooking oil at the factory.

"We consistantly comply with the government regulation, even our management takes part in discounted market operation," he said.

The company continued to supply cooking oil to the market when there was a shortage as cap price was determined by the central government.
