Banjar Police, the rank of South Kalimantan Regional Police, try to help people by providing cooking oil amid domestic cooking oil crisis, but they are only for vaccine recipients.
"People who want to get vaccinated please contact police precincts (polsek-Polsek) in Banjar Police, may be you can get cooking oil," said Banjar Police Chief AKBP Doni Hadi Santoso in Martapura.
He acknowledged that many people are now hunting for cooking oil, because of fluctuating price. Especially after the government revoked the regulation on the retail price ceiling (HET) for packaged cooking oil Wednesday (March 16, 2022).
However, Doni assured the stock of cooking oil is available and he appealed to the public not to panic and not to make purchases in a hurry.
"We have checked the distributor for Banjar District suppliers, the stock is sufficient for the people needs," he expounded.
To help people getting cooking oil with a reasonable price, Banjar Police also often holds market operation in cooperation with some agents and the local Trade Office.
"For people who want to buy cooking oil during market operations, we ensure that they are obliged to get vaccinated and comply with health protocols by not crowding," Doni said.
Based on data from the Ministry of Health as of March 20, 2022, the vaccination achievement in Banjar District was 78 percent with a target of 442,251 people from 565,635 population. As many as 381,203 people or 86 percent have received the first dose and 208,431 people or 47 percent got the second dose.
Elderly, with a target of 34,471 people from the population of 45,163, a total 26,054 people or 75.58 percent got the first vaccine dose and 12,632 people or 36.65 percent received the second dose.
