Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Banjarmasin Agriculture and Fisheries Agency (Distankan) Doyo Pudjadi targeting farmers are able to export snakehead fish (popularly known here as haruan) after fostering.


He mentioned haruan aquaculture in Banjarmasin highly developed after the local government provided assistance to haruan farmers groups. Ten groups of fish farmers have already been formed . Each group consisted of 10 people, so great expectations that the region became the biggest haruan producer in South Kalimantan.

"This year the government has allocated funds for haruan fish farmers amounted to Rp500 million, next year will be increased two-fold. It's motivation productivity," said Doyo here on Monday.

He believes with the encouragement of the local government haruan fish production in this area will be very large to be sold to other regions and even abroad.

The market for haruan fish rated large because the fish have unique properties in the body to health.

"Haruan fish contains albumin which is very important for our body. Lack of albumin in the body can lead to unstable blood volume and impaired health," he said.

In addition, the content in the body of haruan is also good to cure wounds, so mothers who have just given birth or are out of operation good to consume it.

He targeted haruann harvest in 2016 as much as 30 tons so it can move the local economy and contribute to local revenues significantly.
