Chairman of the Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Sairi Mukhlis said the construction of the 1004/Kotabaru Military District Command Headquarters (Makodim) is projected to cost IDR7.5 billion.

"Alhamdulillah, the development planning for Makodim 1004/Kotabaru has been realized through a compensation budget of IDR7.5 billion from PT Sebuku Coal Group," he said as reported on Sunday.

He said the construction of the Makodim was a form of the company's seriousness to build infrastructure in "Earth of Saijaan" (nickname of Kotabaru).

Previously, PT Sebuku Coal Group had paved 7.8 kilometers of roads, also from compensation funds worth IDR10 billion.

Luhut Siregar, Head of PT Sebuku Coal Group in his remarks during the groundbreaking, said the compensation given by the company was a form of its commitment to help build Kotabaru.

"I would like to thank the Commander (Danrem) of 101/Antasari (South Kalimantan) Military Command Brigadier General Firmansyah for being able to attend the goundbreaking of the Makodim," he said.

The company will continue to be committed to development in Kotabaru through compensation funds and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"Hopefully the Kodim office will be built for the people of Kotabaru to benefit from it," said Luhut Siregar.
