Head of Banjarmasin Health Office Machli Riyadi said new COVID-19 cases in the city continue to climb and currently has reached 101.
Based on the provincial Health Office as of January 30, 2022, there were additional 50 cases of COVID-19 in South Kalimantan, 39 of them were from Banjarmasin.
"Yes, by the increasing number of COVID-19 case, today the total is 101 active COVID-19 cases in Banjarmasin City," said Machli Riyadi here on Sunday.
He urged the people to increase vigilance again, apply strong health protocols discipline, and succeed in the COVID-19 vaccination program to build herd immunity.
"We hope that together with the community we will quickly build herd immunity so we can protect the elderly and local residents," he said.
He also appealed to residents who have been six month after receiving the second dose vaccine to take a booster or the third vaccine dose injection.
Machli Riyadi assured that the city government paid serious attention to the condition of increasing number of COVID-19 cases and reminded that it is a shared task to bring it back under control.
"Wht is clear it is a big task for us the Health Agency, after almost two months we have been able to control the COVID-19 together with TNI-Polri," he said.
Data from the South Kalimantan Health Office today stated that the total case of COVID-19 in Banjarmasin was 15,982, with 15,333 recoveries, and 544 people died.
