The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen-PPPA) will inaugurate two villages in Barito Kuala (Batola) District as a model for the 2022 Women Friendly and Child Care Village (DRPPA).

The two are Sepakat Bersama Village and Pulau Sewangi Village, in Alalak Sub-district. In Indonesia there are 19 districts and cities to receive the designation of DRPPA, which is the responsibility of the ministry's Deputyfor the Protection of Women's Rights.

Head of the Batola Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DPPKBP3A) Hj Harliani immediately met Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS at her residence, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, regarding preparation for the inauguration of DRPPA.

“The Regent aims the declaration to be carried out in early February,” said Harliani.

Head of DPPKBP3A estimates that Batola may have been chosen because the regional head is a women, as well as the head of the model village.

Regent Hj Noormiliyani hopes that the establishment of DRPPA will provide benefits for solving gender problems and increasing women's insight and active role.

“Villages must provide a sense of security and comfort, especially for women and children, by fulfilling their right to protection from various forms of violence and discrimination as well as the availability of facilities that are friendly to women and children,” she said.
