Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina declared the flood emergency response status after rob floods hit the city for four days continuously.
"The governor has set the flood emergency response status for the province, and I as a mayor stating the simila status following the direction of the provincial government," he said, Thursday.
Although the official decree has not yet been issued, he said, the procedures to raising the status through the city meeting had been held.
"We will take the unexpected fund (DTT) to tackle crucial flood areas," he said.
He said rob flood due to high sea tides had hit the city for four days 6-9 December 2021 and is predicted to continue.
The Mayor said that extra handling is needed in order for the affected people can be assisted and steps to improve flood handling infrastructure to be immediately carried out.

He has also ordered subdistricts heads and urban villages heads to immediately collect data, to find out problems with flooding and the slow receding of inundation in their respective areas.
"This is a sea tidal phenomenon caused by La-Nina, which also hits other areas not only Banjarmasin," he said.
This can be seen from the area heavily affected is West Banjarmasin which is close to the sea estuary on the Barito River.
"At the beginning of the year, East and South Banjarmasin were badly affected by the major flood, because of the high water sent from the upstream of Martapura River. Today it is from sea tides, and the West Banjarmasin is badly affected," he said.
