PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk Plant Tarjun (ITP) is collaborating with the Kotabaru government through Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Disnakertrans) in improving the district human resources.
PT ITP HR Director Antonius Marcos said that the company was the first to provide apprenticeship in South Kalimantan in its cooperation with the agency's Vocational Training Center (BLK Kotabaru).
"This is a form of the company's support for the government program in providing quality and competitive human resources as an important factor in the national economic activities, especially in Kotabaru,” he said.
He also expounded that it was a follow-up of a cooperation contract between PT ITP and the local government in carrying out an apprenticeship.
“This is our responsibility to help improve competency in the effort of developing skillful human resources. Hopefully, this provides benefits and becomes a positive contribution in improving and developing competencies in the industrial vocational program,” Marcos noted in a press release.

The Regional Secretary of Kotabaru H Said Ahmad greatly appreciated the internship program by PT ITP for 13 apprentices, which consisted of alumni of SMK Mitra Indocement and Alumni of Kotabaru Vocational Training Center (BLK) from Mitra Village.
“On behalf of the district government, I would like to thank PT ITP for being the pilot project in this program. Hopefully, it will continue and can be followed by other companies in Kotabaru,” he said.
Acting Head of the Agency (Disnakertrans) Khairil Fajri said program that PT ITP apprenticeship program will run for six months, with a pattern of 25 percent theory in class and 75 percent practice at workshop according to their respective majors.
