Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Police destroyed 15 grams of crystal methamphetamine from results of arrest in the last two months.


The Police chief AKBP Suhasto here on Thursday said the illicit powder obtained from three suspects, identified as Hd (24) with 7.92 grams of sabu-sabu, and 7.43 grams from suspected Rf (25) and Mn ( 25).

"The suspect Hd was arrested beside SMPN1 Kotabaru, while Rf and Mn arrested in Penitentiary (LP) Kotabaru," said Chief Police, accompanied by the Drug unit chief Ubaldus Delo.

He said that during the first 100 days of work of National Police Chief, Kotabaru police uncovered 32 drug cases with 33 suspects. A total of 16 cases related to Law No. 36 Year 2009 on Health, and the remaining 16 cases related to Law No. 5 of 1997 on Psychotropic Substances.

According to the police chief, the circulation of drugs in Kotabaru increased compared with previous years.

To curb them, the police together with relevant agencies, such as Kotabaru district narcotics agency (BNNK), perform preventive and repressive measures. Among of these is urine test against drivers of Inter-City in the Province, city transport, and rural transport in the terminal when Eid to anticipate the occurrence of traffic accidents due to drunk driver.
