South Kalimantan woman boxer Aldriani Beatrichx Suguro added a gold medal to the province's collection after winning the women's 51 kg class boxing at the 20th National Games (PON) 2021 in Papua.
"Yes, we got one more gold medal from women's boxing," said Head of Achievement Development of South Kalimantan KONI Gusti Perdana Kusuma from Papua, Wednesday.
A day before, wrestler Fahriansyah donated the second gold medal for South Kalimantan. He won in men's 86 kg freestyle class.
"We really appreciate and are proud of our athletes who fought for the achievements, especially those who won gold medals," he said.
Gusti Perdana Kusuma considered the struggle of the South Kalimantan boxing team was extraordinary for being able to win one gold medal and one silver medal.

The silver medal was won by Silpa Lau Ratu in the 57 kg class after fighting against West Papua boxer Christina Jembay in the final match, Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Aldriani Beatrichx Suguro won the gold medal after defeating the host boxer Sely Wanimbo in their fight at the Cendrawasih Sports Hall, Jayapura City, Wednesday.
South Kalimantan boxing coach Simeon Tamelab expressed his appreciation for the two athletes who won gold and silver.
"One gold and one silver is a great appreciation for my athletes," he said when contacted.
At the XIX PON 2016 in West Java, South Kalimantan boxing could only win one silver medal.
