South Kalimantan Fahriansyah proved himself in the final match by winning a gold medal. This is the second gold medal for the contingent at the XX National Games (PON) 2021 in Papua.
Deputy General Secretary of the National Sports Committee (KONI) of South Kalimantan H Hesly Junianto from Merauke, Papua, Tuesday, said that Fahriansyah won the gold after defeating his opponent from East Java.
"Fahriansyah went down in the 86 kg freestyle class, winning a landslide victory over Krisna Eka Pratama from East Java," he said.
Hesly said that KONI really appreciated and is proud ofFahriansyah as well as other athletes who have struggled to bring achievements and make a good name of the region at the prestigious national sporting event.
"As a sign of appreciation for the gold medal struggle, the prize of Rp10 million was immediately given by the head of South Kalimantan KONI," he said.

Wrestling is the South Kalimantan's mainstay sport to win the gold medal. So far, they have won two gold medals and two bronze medals.
"The first gold medal yesterday was won by Arbainsyah, while the two bronze medals were donated by Roxana and Aditya," he said.
He said there are still several South Kalimantan wrestlers who will compete at the Dispora Marauke Futsal Sports Hall. "South Kalimantan fielded nine wrestling athletes at the Papua PON," he said.
South Kalimantan wrestling coach Zulhaidir said on Tuesday that he was grateful that his athletes had again won the gold medal. "Alhamdulillah, we won another gold medal," he said.
