Mayor H Ibnu Sina stated that Banjarmasin is waiting for President Ir H Joko Widodo's instruction regarding the next policy of imposing public activity restriction (PPKM) in the city.

Ibnu Sina, after the evaluation meeting for the implementation of level PPKM level 4 which ended on August 8, 2021, in the city said that there had been no decision to extend the PPKM.

"Today, we have not made a decision to continue or not the level 4 PPKM, but we are waiting for the President's announcement nationally," he said.

He estimated that the President will announce the policy for the next PPKM, including for outside Java dan Bali tonight.

"So we are waiting for the President's instruction, which areas are still at level 4 status," he said.

Whatever the decision for Banjarmasin in handling COVID-19, of course, the city government and the Task Force are ready to implement.

In the evaluation meeting on the implementation of PPKM level 4, he said, there were three indicators of assessment. First, the number of cases has decreased.

"Actually, today's cases have decreased, but t is still above one hundred, so it remains at level 4," he said.

"Similarly the second indicator, namely weekly cases, has decreased, but remains at level 44 category," he said.

The third indicator, he continued, bed occupancy ratio (BOR) is far below, even at level 2, around 54 percent.

According to him, although there is still no certainty about the extension of PPKM, the implementation of health protocols is still tightened.

"So, before there is a decision, the position is still like the level 4 PPKM, the enforcement of health protocols remains strict," said Ibnu Sina.
