Acting Governor of South Kalimantan Safrizal ZA said that oxygen supply for the province, especially for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, is sufficient.
The acting Governor, who is about to end his term of office, spoke at the South Kalimantan DPRD plenary meeting chaired by its speaker H Supian HK in Banjarmasin, Thursday (August 5, 2021).
Safrizal, who is also the Ministry of Home Affair's Director General (Dirjen) of Regional Administration, admitted that the stock of oxygen in South Kalimantan is actually able to meet the need for the next four to five days.
"But insya Allah (God Willing), starting August 10 our oxygen availability will be able to meet the need in 10 days. We will continue to work on that," he said.
"Even the arrival of oxygen on 10 of August makes it possible to help our neighbor Central Kalimantan," he continued and added that he had just received a call from the Governor of Central Kalimantan.

Regarding the new variant of the Delta virus, he said he did not know whether it had entered South Kalimantan, which now has a population of over four million spread in 13 districts and cities.
"What is clear is that we remain vigilant and cautious, among others, by complying with health protocols to prevent further spread of COVID-19," he said.
"Wear your mask, preferably two layers. It is said if only one layer the Delta variant could still penetrate," said Safrizal.
