Barito Kuala (Batola) District, and nine other districts and cities in South Kalimantan, won a district child-friendly (KLA) award from the Women Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry (PPPA).
Batola won the Pratama category of KLA. The same category was won by Banjar District, Tanah Laut, Central Hulu Sungai (HST), and Balangan at the awarding ceremony held virtually on Thursday.
While Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, North Hulu Sungai Utara, South Hulu Sungai, and Tabalong won the category of Nindya.
Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS, Chairman of KLA Task Force who is the District Secretary of Batola H Zulkipli Yadi Noor, Secretary of KLA Task Force who also Head of DPPKBP3A Hj Harliani, and other officials, as well as the business world in the district, cheerfully welcome the achievement of Batola.
“The success achieved by Batola certainly cannot be separated from the cooperation of all parties involved. On behalf of the government and the community I express my deepest gratitude and appreciation,” said the Regent on the sideline of attending the virtual award ceremony.

Meanwhile, PPPA Minister I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati through video zoom said that we saw an increase in KLA award recipients in 2021 compared to 2019.
“It is our pride that the KLA recipients increase from 249 in 2019 to 279 districts and cities in 2021,” she said.
She hopes that the award is not only seen as the ultimate goal but becomes an encouragement for the regions to protect children in their respective areas.
