Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina stated that blocking city entrance is not carried out in the implementation of level 4 public activity restriction (PPKM).

Ibnu Sina remarked after a coordination meeting in response to the implementation of the level 4 micro-scale PPKM from July 26 to August 2, 2021, at the Banjarmasin City Hall, Monday.

The meeting was attended by the city police and military officials, as well as DPRD and other members of the city leadership communication forum.

According to Mayor, the meeting participants agreed on the restriction, as in Java and Bali, not to block the entrance of the city.

Instead, monitoring or inspection posts are built manned by the elements of TNI-Polri, Satpol PP (Public Order Agency officers), and officers from the Transportation Agency.

Supervision and inspection at the entrance must be carried out, so it detects if people who enter the city have symptoms of COVID-19 to be prevented.

"There are standard health protocols that must be met for outsiders to enter Banjarmasin during the implementation of PPKM," he said.

Commander of 1007/Banjarmasin Military Command Colonel Inf. Oki Andriansyah Adiwirya said it is necessary to disseminate information to the public as well as officers in the field to share common perceptions about PPKM in order to avoid misunderstanding in carrying out tasks in the field.

TNI-Polri, he said, are ready to help backup the city government in implementing PPKM level 4.

Meanwhile, Head of Health Agency Machli Riyadi said related to the Minister of Home Affairs' instruction No. 25 of 2021 for PPKM level 4 will be evaluated again.

"We target together with all meeting participants to lower it from level 4 to level 3, even if possible to level 2 again," he said.

"As the key to implementing discipline of health protocols, of course, hard work with all members of the community is very much needed," he said.
