Balangan District declared the status of level 3 of public activity restriction (PPKM) based on the South Kalimantan Governor's decree.

"Based on the South Kalimantan Governor's decree, Balangan is in the status of level 3 PPKM. we will tighten PPKM in every village," said the Regent and Head of Balangan COVID-19 Task Force Abdul Hadi in Paringin, Monday.

The determination, said Abdul Hadi, was due to a spike in the number of COVID-19 spreads in Indonesia, especially in South Kalimantan.

"We have begun to prepare a number of preventive and handling measures, and we have tightened micro-scale PPKM. The status of level 3 in Balangan makes the COVID-19 Task Force to respond more quickly," he said.

Previously, there were 55 patients who were treated, then on Monday (26/7) became 63. This means, just a matter of hours addition can occur.

Head of Balangan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Alive Yoesfah Love said the status of level 3 PPKM made Balangan be in the orange zone.

"Even though yesterday Balangan was in the yellow zone, but now it has been designated as an orange zone," said Alive.

He said the current situation in Balangan caused the postponement of face-to-face learning.
