Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Berkah Rizky Anugerah Mulia objected a Singaporean, accused of fraud in two sets of barges and tugboats transaction, was acquitted by the High Court of South Kalimantan.


"We are the victim objected to the verdict of the High Court to free the defendant who committed fraud against PT BRAM," said Attorney of PT BRAM, Fahmi Faisal, in Banjarmasin, Wednesday.

Earlier, the Banjarmasin District Court found the defendant, Oh Choo Huat (Singapore citizen), Director of Topniche Associates Pte Ltd, guilty and sentence him by 2.6-year prison.

However, the defendant appealed to the High Court in Banjarmasin and appeal verdict was shocking the victim, PT BRAM, which is also a local company. It turned out the accused were acquitted.

PT BRAM feel aggrieved and wish appeal later, which made the public prosecutor can provide a sense of justice as Indonesian citizen harmed by foreign companies.

"Over the fraud committed by the foreign company, PT BRAM has suffered total losses plus the potential loss of Rp100.945.462.200," he said in a press conference on the case.
