A total of 500 vials or 5,500 doses of the Sinovac vaccine arrived in South Hulu Sungai (HSS), which will be administered for the fifth stage of COVID-19 vaccination for educators, public servants, and the elderly.

Head of HSS Health Office Siti Zainab here on Tuesday (8/6) said that the Sinovac vaccine arrived early this month along with personal protective equipment (PPE).

"The vaccine and PPE are stored at the Pharmacy Installation warehouse of the Health Office at Jalan Ahmad Yani km 3,5, Gambah Luar Muka Village, Kandangan Sub-district, with police security," she said.

According to the schedule, vaccination is carried out beginning June 8, 2021, at community health centers (puskesmas) intended for teachers for the success of face-to-face learning implementation in July, also for public service officers, and the elderly.

To date, 5,063 or 71.11 percent of kindergarten/PAUD (early childhood education)/playgroup teachers have been given the first dose and 3,250 or 45.65 percent received the second dose. 

"Vaccination for health workers has been 97.92 percent of the first dose and 94.72 percent of the second dose, while for public service 55.87 percent of the first dose and 31.57 percent of the second dose, and elderly people with the first dose 2.22 percent and second dose 0.72 percent," she said.
