Acting Governor of South Kalimantan Safrizal ZA urges people in the province to jointly prevent a spike of COVID-19 infection such as in India due to people neglecting to comply with health protocols.
He in Banjarbaru on Thursday reminded all residents not to be careless in preventing the infection by always implementing health protocols as has always been conveyed by the government through health agency and the task force.
According to Safrizal, the addition of new COVID-19 cases is still happening, even though various prevention efforts through socialization and supervision of health protocols have been carried out.

Based on the data from the South Kalimantan COVID-19 task force on Thursday afternoon, there was an addition of 65 fresh cases from Barito Kuala 17, Tanah Laut 8, Tapin 8, Banjarbaru 8.
Then, North Hulu Sungai 7, Tanah Bumbu 7, Central Hulu Sungai 5, South Hulu Sungai 3, and Kotabaru 2.
South Kalimantan has recorded 32,751 cases with details of 29,674 people recovered, 2,136 people being treated in hospitals or independent isolation, and 941 people died.
"The bad experience in India had claimed success, then carelessly held religious festivals, and led to the massive spread of cases," he said when he was a guest speaker at a discussion entitled "The Synergy of COVID-19 Handling Review in South Kalimantan" organized by Amnesia Foundation in Banjarmasin.
Safrizal revealed in Januari-April 17,312 cases recorded, of which 15,712 recoveries (90.76 percent), 1,248 active patients (7.21 percent), and 352 people died (2.07 percent).
