The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan re-extended the implementation of micro-scale public activity restriction (PPKM Mikro), which is now entering the six stages.

Acting Governor Safrizal ZA here on Tuesday said that the extension is valid for 14 days starting April 20, 2021.

In addition to South Kalimantan, he said, the central government added five other provinces to implement the same policy, namely West Sumatra, Jambi, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, and West Kalimantan.

Thus, Safrizal said in the coordination meeting to evaluate the handling of COVID-19 in South Kalimantan, the total number of regions implementing PPKM Mikro are 25 provinces.

Safrizal in the coordination meeting was accompanied by acting Regional Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar, Head of Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Mujiyat, and Head of Health Agency Muhammad Muslim.

The meeting, which concurrently held virtually, also attended by the expert team of the University of Lambung Mangkurat.

Safrizal said nationally the government claimed that the implementation of micro-scale PPKM was quite effective in reducing the coronavirus infection.

In this case, he said, the provincial government still asked for input from all related parties, including from the police (Polri), TNI, the expert team, and others for more effective activities.
