Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The provincial governments and legislative assemblies in Kalimantan again demanding a rise in power development on the largest island in the archipelago.


"The demand re-emerged in the 2015 Kalimantan Regional Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang)," said Chairman of Commission II on economics and finance South Kalimantan DPRD Muharram, before a recess in Banjarmasin on Friday.

In Kalimantan Regional Musrenbang in Jakarta a few days ago, he continued, it was revealed that natural resources (SDA) in the form of coal from Kalimantan as much energy resources for electricity on the island of Java.

"While as energy storages, power development in Kalimantan, which now consists of five provinces have not been as expected and still lacks the power to be able to meet all the needs of consumers of electricity," he said.

Therefore, Kalimantan Regional Musrenbang, which attended by regional leaders and representatives of the five provinces asked central government to immediately realize the power development that has not
built.

"The Musrenbang Forum expect an increase in power development in Kalimantan, including South Kalimantan, became one of the government's priorities ," he said.

Without the availability of sufficient electricity, it is difficult for investors to invest their capital, he he said citing the results of Musrenbang.

On a separate occasion, the General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan, Mursalin, explained that there were some electrical power development in the two neighboring provinces which are now in the process. One is a unit VII steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) Asam-Asam in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, and the other is PLTU Pulau Pisau, Central Kalimantan.

"When all the electrical construction improvement plan is realized, then the region will have a surplus electric power," he said.
