Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The number of work accidents in the city of Banjarmasin during 2014 reached 127 cases and ten of the victims died, 44 suffered severe physical injuries and 73 others in the category of minor accidents.


Head of Banjarmasin Manpower Agency Agus Surono here on Tuesday said the number of occupational accident is still high enough so that all parties need to improve supervision of the implementation of occupational health and safety throughout the company in this city.

"In February 2015 alone there have been 23 injuries and two of them died," he said.

To reduce the number of workplace accidents, Manpower Agency today continue to disseminate to all companies that their employees required to use personal protective equipment when working as the terms defined.

In addition, it is gradually doing health and safety training (K3) to the whole company as currently implemented.

The statement was made by Agus on K3 training event for 35 companies in Banjarmasin in the office of PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin.
