The State Polytechnic of Banjarmasin (Poliban) distributed plantation and agriculture tools to farmers affected by flood in Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District.

"Types of plantation tools that we provide, such as hoes, rubber tapping knives, machetes, pitchforks, and others," said Chief of the community service of Poliban Peduli Banua M Helmy Noor ST MT here on Friday.

The reason was, "A lot of their plantation and agriculture tools were lost due to the flood," said Helmi, who said that the assistance was handed over on March 10, 2021.

The Poliban Smart city Information System lecturer said that each type of tool distributed to the farmers amounted to an average of 50.

Previously, Poliban helped the flood victims by building an emergency bridge, because their bridge was destroyed by the flash floods.

The birdge, which is constructed of bamboo with a stone foundation tied with steel wires, was built in Baru Waki Village, Batu Benawa Sub-district, for access to Batu Tunggal Village, Hantakan Sub-district. These two sub-districts were severely hit by the flood in January 2021.

Poliban Peduli Banua also provided prayer needs and Al-Quran for mushola (a worship place smaller than mosque) in their village.

Poliban, he continued, also performed trauma healing by telling stories and distributing stationery and snacks to children in the village to help them get rid of trauma.
