Al Umm Barabai Foundation through its social division, Gerakan Peduli Sesama (GPS) or Care for People Movement, again inaugurated temporary shelters it has built for flood victims in neighborhood unit (RT) 06 Arangani, Alat Village, Hantakan Sub-district, Central Hulu Sungai (HST), as well as distributing aid packages and zakat, Sunday (7/3).
"Today, we inaugurate 5 shelters that have been completed from the10 shelters plan, we also hand out aid packages worth IDR320,000 and IDR200,000 zakat money to 130 families in Alat Village RT 06 Arangani," said Chairman of the Al Umm Foundation Muhammad Hasbi Ridhani.
He said five of ten temporary shelter assistance for residents whose houses were lost or swept away by the flash flood had been completed. The remaining five are still under construction. Each shelter is given an additional electric fan.
Head of Hantakan Sub-district Kartadipura, who inaugurated the use of shelters in Alat Village, expressed his gratitude to the Al Umm and GPS for all assistance has been provided, both in the form of shelters or other assistance in villages in the sub-district.
"We hope that the assistance from Al Umm through GPS HST will continue to reach more villages in Hantakan," he said.

Head of Housing and Residential Areas of the HST Settlement AgencyAhmad Syafaat also expressed the government's deep gratitude to GPS Al Umm for helping flood victims in HST.
"The HST government has also built a communal shelter 1 unit in Alat Village which can be occupied by 10 families, but it is still lacking. So, we greatly appreciate the aid for the construction of shelters like what GPS Al Umm did. We hope that more people or communities participate in helping flash flood victims in HST," he said.
One of the residents, who is also chief of RT 06, Mansyah admitted that he was happy with the various assistance from GPS Al Umm, beginning from basic food, sleeping necessities such as mat and blankets, and cooking utensils.
All of this has eased the burden of their lives, moreover, the construction of shelters has greatly helped the residents' daily activities.
