After a flash flood in Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District, South Kalimantan, aid continues to flow. One of them is from the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XI Kalimantan that has built 18 temporary houses (huntara) for flood victims.
One of the recipients Noorsiah (63), a resident of Baru Village, Batu Benawa Sub-district, whose house was swept away by the flood, expressed that she was happy to receive assistance from LLDIKTI, Saturday (Mar 20, 2021).
"I am happy. Thank you very much," said the old woman who lives alone.
Chairman of LLDIKTI Region XI Kalimantan Prof Udiansyah said that the shelters in which construction was assisted by the district military Kodim 1002/Barabai were very suitable for recipients to live in.
"Alhamdulillah, I would like to thank TNI, especially Kodim 1002 HST who help with this work. In my opinion, the results were extraordinary, very neat, you can ask the recipients," he said after handing over the keys symbolically.
Of the 18 shelters, 12 were built in Baru village, Batu Benawa Sub-district, and six in Hantakan Village, Hantakan Sub-district.
The assistance were the collaboration between LLDIKTI and the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), the South Kalimantan military Korem 101 Antasari, Kodim 1002/Barabai, and the HST government.
Commander of 1002/Barabai Military Command Lt. Col. Inf. Muh Ishak H. Baharuddin said that people affected by floods have occupied the shelters either from LLDIKTI, the government, or others.
Data received by ANTARA from Commander of 1002-07/Pagat Sub-district Military Capt. Inf. Andi Tiro, in Batu Benawa from 14 villages it was recorded 55 houses were swept away by the flood, 95 were heavily damaged, 254 moderately damaged, 171 slightly damaged.
Meanwhile, in Hantakan Sub-district from 12 villages recorded 119 houses were swept away, 423 heavily damaged, and 369 slightly damaged.
Head of the HST Development Administration M Ramadlan expressed gratitude to LLDIKTI XI Kalimantan, also all parties who had helped the flood-affected communities.
