Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency or BPS recorded inflation rate in December 2014 was 1.68 percent, up again compared to previous months.


"The inflation rate in South Kalimantan is a combination of Banjarmasin and Tanjung in September 2014 was recorded at 0.20 percent, 0.54 percent in October, 1.45 percent in November and in December 2014 rose 0.23 percent to 1.68 percent," said the head of the local BPS Dyan Pramono Effendy in Banjarmasin on Friday.

The cumulative inflation rate in South Kalimantan in 2014 (December 2014 to December 2013) was 7.28 percent (5.50 percent inNovember), and the rate of inflation "year on year" also 7.28 percent (6.56 percent in November).

In Banjarmasin, inflation in December 2014 was recorded 1.63 percent. Cumulative inflation rate in 2014 amounted to 7.16, and the  yoy rate of inflation recorded 7.16 percent.

The highest contributor to inflation in Banjarmasin include gasoline, snakehead fish, rice with dishes, chili red, electricity tariffs, and rice.

While in Tanjung, the capital of Tabalong (236 kilometers north of Banjarmasin) inflation in December 2014 was 2.38 percent. Cumulative inflation rate in 2014 amounted to 8.80 percent and the yoy inflation rate was also recorded 8.80 percent.

Commodity which increased price and share the highest inflation among others, sand (building materials), sweet corn, snakehead fish, and rice.
