Prof. Agung Nugroho, S.TP, M.Sc., Ph.D. recorded in the gold ink of the history of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) as the youngest professor aged 37 years.
Agung, a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, breaking the record of Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Barkatullah who was inaugurated as the ULM youngest professor in June 2019 when the Dean of the Faculty of Law was 42 years old.
Together with Agung, Prof. Meilana Dharma Putra from the Faculty of Engineering, 38 years old, inaugurated by ULM Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Sutarto Hadi.
The man born in Karanganyar on Juli 19, 1983, is indeed special. He jumped from the position of lector directly to the professor without occupying the head lector.
Agung's lecturer credit score requirement has indeed been met to be inaugurated as a professor. He recorded 60 published articles in scientific journals.
Then four patents as intellectual property rights were registered at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (Dirjen KI) of the Law and Human Rights Ministry resulted from his agricultural research.
The four patents, namely the Process of Making Beige and Low Caramel Palm Ant Sugar Using the Open Wok Method (S00201910311), Honey Formulation with Flavonoid Rich Extract from Patikan Kebo (Euphorbia hirta) (S00201910513), The Process of Making Flavonoid Rich Extract from Simplisia Patikan Kebo (Euphorbia hirta) (S00201910512), and The Tool of Making Ant Sugar type of Golden Sugar (S00201910312).

Farmer's son
Agung is the son of a farmers couple, H. Sartono and Hj. Sri Purwanti. His father is an agriculture counselor who also his own rice field.
Agung since he was a child joined his parent in the fields to help planted, harvested, and to sell them to market, and so on in Karanganyar, Central Java.
Even so, he admitted he has no dream as a farmer. Until, after graduating from a high school of SMAN 1 Karanganyar in 2001, Agung decided to study for the Undergraduate Program at the Department of Agriculture Industry Technology of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture, and graduated in 2005.
After his bachelor's degree, Agung had worked at the System Analyst of PT TPS Food Tbk. Solo, before he joined ULM as a lecturer in 2006.
The status of lecturer turned out to be even motivated him to deepen Agricultural sciences. Then he took the Master of Science Program in Natural Product Science and Technology at Sangji University, South Korea, and graduated in 2009.
Then he proceeded to the Doctor of Philosophy in the same field and in the same university until he graduated in 2014. Agung received The Most Excellence Graduate award at the Sangji University Period I Graduation in 2014.
The opportunity to increase knowledge he did again by completing the Profesional Engineer Program, Professional Engineer Education, Faculty of Engineering, ULM 2018.
A tangible manifestation of his professionalism and totality as a lecturer in ULM as the best public university in Kalimantan with A accreditation was realized by the father of Mufida Hana and Aqila Ayumi as he received the 2019 ULM Lecturer Achievement II Award.
He also was awarded PATPI Award Winner (The Best 1) in 2019 by the Association of Indonesia Food Technology Expert in Bandung and The Excellent Presentation Award at the International Conference of Korea Association of Herbology JINR 2018.
