South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H. Achmad Fikry together with Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad harvested melons in the Family Welfare Movement's (PKK's) orchard. They were accompanied by the Chairwoman of the HSS PKK Hj. Isnaniah Achmad Fikry and Deputy Srie Astuti Syamsuri Arsyad.
Regent said the fruit of the PKK's orchard was very satisfying. He saw that melon here were already bearing fruit after two months of planting.
"Every year PKK holds an orchard competition, but during the pandemic, it was not implemented, however, the orchard keeps to be maintained," he said, Monday (Nov 16, 2020).

The PKK's orchard is developed in collaboration with several agencies, including the Fisheries Agency, Agriculture Agency, and Food Security Agency, to provide an example of land use for the interest of households. Besides melon, here also planted papaya, corn, and medicinal plants for family.
On this occasion, the regent sowed 600 tilapia seeds in two biofloc ponds prepared by the local Fisheries Agency.
Head of HSS Agriculture Agency H Muhammad Noor acknowledged indeed various kind of vegetables and fruits, including family medicinal plants, grow well here.
