Beginning on Monday (Nov 16, 2020) the Banjarmasin Education Office conducted face-to-face learning simulation in four state junior high schools (SMPN), namely SMPN 7, SMPN 10, SMPN 12, and SMPN 31.

"It is still in the simulation stage for two weeks and these schools are the readiest," said Head of Banjarmasin Education Office Totok Agus Daryanto, Sunday.

According to him, the learning activities at school are held with the approval of teachers, parents, and the city government.

"In principle, the majority of parents have agreed that the school is reopened, and the school in the green zone based on the assessment of the Task Force, thus the decision is taken," said Totok.

He pointed out that face-to-face learning in school is carried out by implementing health protocol to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

Junior high schools that carry out the simulation, according to him, have their own policies in implementing restrictions on learning participants.

SMPN 7, for example, only fill 30 percent of the classroom capacity, while SMPN 10 would fill 50 percent of the capacity when carrying out face-to-face learning.

The Education Office, Totok said, will evaluate the simulation of face-to-face learning in four SMPs.

"If it can be implemented it will continue, but if it does not meet the standard of health protocol it will be stopped," he said.
