Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Air quality in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, filled with smog, is unhealthy as it exceeds the Air Pollution Standards Index (ISPU).
"The results of monitoring of the Center for Technical Environmental Health that Banjarbaru exceed air quality standards at 120, so it is categorized as unhealthy and should be avoided in order not to be inhaled directly," said Head of Banjarbaru Health Agency Agus Widjaja on Tuesday.
Air quality monitoring conducted on 16-19 September 2014 using a HVS (High Volume Sample) 600 type size of 10 microns. By default ISPU, otherwise healthy air quality 0-50, 50-100 moderate, 100-150 unhealthy then 150-200 very unhealthy and over 200 hazardous.
"Checker tool was placed in in the Office of UKPKK, Syamsudin Noor Village and measurement results show the figure exceeds standards," he said.
Health Agency along with BTKL officers, Wednesday (8/10) conduct air quality monitoring phase two, but the point where monitoring has not been determined.
Haze of smoke from burning forests and the land has been going on since one month ago is quite thick and covered the whole Banjarbaru every morning. "Since last month Banjarbaru shrouded in smog and haze that appears on Wednesday (7/10) morning was the worst viscosity compared to the previous day," he said.
