Regent of Barito Kuala, South Kalimantan, Hj Noormiliyani AS handed over staple food package for the sixth stages for 20,222 poor households affected by COVID-19.
Symbolically, the regent handed over the food packages to the Head of Wanaraya Sub-district Slamet Riyanto, Anjir Pasar Sub-district Head Akhmad Husaini, and Mekarsari Sub-district Head Hikmatullah at the Serbaguna Building of the Regency Government Office Complex in Marabahan, Monday.
The food packages then delivered to villages heads to be distributed to the target poor households.
Noormiliyani said the food assistance will continue to be distributed until December. It is on the consideration of the hardship situation that people in real need of assistance.
She hoped, the poor affected by the pandemic felt the assistance provided, so they could live a calm life.

The regent, who is very concerned, hoped the people to be vigilant of the spread of the COVID-19 by implementing health protocol in their daily life, especially when going outside or to the market.
To companies doing their activities in the Batola, the former Speaker of South Kalimantan DPRD suggested them that they care about the effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“I hope all parties share their concern in preventing the spread of coronavirus through applying health protocol in the hope of changing the status of Barito Kuala which is currently orange to green,” she appealed
