Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Banjarmasin Government quickly streamline local regulations (Perda) No. 7 of 2013 on prohibition of smoking in certain areas.

Under the rule, smokers should not smoke in hospitals, health centers, educational facilities, places of worship, shopping centers, public facilities, and offices.

Head of Banjarmasin Health Agency Hj Diah R Praswati promised the legislation would not be called as a paper tiger, as it prepared formation in guarding its effectiveness, such as Public Order (Satpol PP) officers.

Diah told reporters here on Monday the formation of the implementation began to supervisors, task force and volunteers in each working unit (SKPD), and the general public can be a volunteer.

She enlist the support of the press,so that this legislation can be run as a destination. In addition, the scope of the civil servants, especially in the scope of municipal, should participate as an example that is consistent with the legislative text.

Previously, Sunday (4/5) the legal product launched in front of the Home Office of Vice Governor of South Kalimantan marked by the release of balloons by City Regional Secretary H Zulfadli Gazali with Head of Health Agency.

Hundreds of people attended the launch, which coupled with healthy exercise activities full of door prizes, as well as embedding a no smoking area pin.

Zulfadli Gazali said, the launching of the law is exactly three years after he quit smoking. He felt it was very useful entry into force not only to protect the rights of the non-smokers, but including smokers themselves.

2015, smokers breaking the law will be fined a minimum of Rp100 thousand. Currently, violaters only reprimanded considering the application of the regulation is done in stages.
