Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Combined raid by Sabhara rapid response unit Banjarmasin Police and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) personnel nabs tens of gepeng (vagabonds/tramps and beggars) that roam the city.

Chief of Sabhara Unit Police Commissioner Haryono MT said on Thursday the raid was conducted because of number of complaints against the presence of sprawl (gepeng).

Cause of the complaint, the officers agreed to conduct raids on Wednesday evening at around 23:30 pm with a target an open green space or often called Taman Kamboja in Central Banjarmasin. In that raid, 31 gepeng were secured.

Haryono said, all the catch was handed over to the Banjarmasin's Satpol PP to follow the legal process.

Possible joint raid will be routinely implemented and is aimed at ensuring "a Thousand River City" residents safe from disturbance of the gepeng.
