Banjarbaru City and Banjar District agreed to begin to impose Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) on Saturday (May 16, 2020) from 0:01 Wita (Indonesia Center Time).


"Banjar and Banjarbaru government have decided PSBB will be held on Saturday at 00.01 WITA and has been approved by the South Kalimantan provincial government," said the spokesman of Banjar Task Force for Acceleration Handling of COVID-19 dr Diauddin through video conference in Martapura, Wednesday.

"The Banjarbakula PSBB in accordance with the Governor's regulation covers three regions, namely Banjarbaru, Banjar and Barito Kuala will take effect on Saturday at 00.01 WITA," said Banjarbaru Deputy Mayor Darmawan Jaya Setiawan after PSBB meeting Tuesday night to Wednesday predawn with Forkopimda as the COVID-19 Task Force. 

He said, before applying PSBB security at the entrances of Banjarbaru has been prepared, set with as many as nine checkpoints to be guarded by an integrated team from various elements. 

A social safety net or social assistance has also been prepared to be distributed before or at the beginning of PSBB to recipients, so people remain calm at their homes.

"Quarantine places also prepared. If ODP (People Under Monitoring) come through the airport it will be the responsibility of the provincial government, and if coming through Central Kalimantan line will be handled by the city task force," Darmawan Jaya explained. 

According to Chief of the Banjar and Banjarbaru PSBB Safeguarding Lt.Col. Arm. Siswo Budiarto, the security concept prepared is a combination of Banjarbaru and Banjar borders.

The District Military Commander (Dandim) of 1006/Martapura said, the border security of Banjarbaru is set at three points, namely Gas Station of Jalan Gubernur Soebardjo, city limit and Q Mall, and Indomaret in Sungai Ulin Sub-district.

Then four points at Banjar border, namely Sungai Tabuk intersection, Pal 7 in front of Giant, Basirih, and Astambul Market at Jalan A Yani.

Also four other points in Banjarbaru, namely the Km 17 gas station, Citra Graha Complex, LUS gas station for Pelaihari destination, Bangkal intersection, and Karang Anyar Amaco.

"The security at the border is carried out, so people coming in and out is restricted according to the purpose of PSBB to limit movement of people to break the chain of COVID-19," he said. 

Banjarbaru residents who work in Banjar District or vice versa must bring documents from RT (neighborhood unit) or assignment letter from office company.

"Everyone who enters the city or exit to Banjar border will be examined. Will be permitted if the reason is clear, if not is asked to turn back," he asserted. 

Regarding a number of rat paths leading to Banjar and Banjarbaru, the team has coordinated with the sub-district and villages task forces as well as RT and RW (community unit) to safeguard their area accompanied by Babinsa (a village supervisory non-commissioned officer) and Bhabinkamtibmas (public order police officer).
