Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani had sent a large scale social restriction (PSBB) proposal letter to Minister of Health and he believed the minister will approve it.

"We have received a recommendation from the South Kalimantan Governor regarding PSBB proposal and immediately forwarded it to the Minister of Health who decide whether or not the social restriction plan approved," he said in Banjarbaru, Monday (April 27, 2020).

The mayor believed the PSBB proposal will be approved by the minister as it had been asserted with the recommendation from the governor, so the social restriction could be enforced in the city.

On the other hand, the PSBB in Banjarbaru is to support the same police now being applied in Banjarmasin, thus Banjarbaru and two other neighboring districts will support the policy.

"The two districts, namely Banjar and Barito Kuala have also received a recommendation from the governor on the PSBB proposal, so we believe Minister of Health will approve the PSBB for the three," he pointed out.

Nadjmi, who was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Darmawan Jaya Setiawan, emphasized that Banjarbaru will prepare everything needed in implementing PSBB to run in an orderly, safe, and smooth manner.

The preparations include field officers, the support of TNI (military) and Polri (police), medical staff in hospitals and health care centers, as well as the availability of basic necessities for beneficiary communities.

"Field officers are prepared in order PSBB to run effectively and smoothly, as well as medical staff and supporting infrastructure, including beneficiaries who are still being recorded to receive assistance," he said.

"The key to the PSBB is to limit the movement of people from entering freely so it can break the chain of virus spread and all will be successful if supported by all parties," he stated.

Previously, the mayor stated that Banjarbaru was feasible to apply PSBB due to the positive case distributed evenly in almost all urban villages. The number of the positive case has now reached 25 and 190 cases of People Under Monitoring (ODP).
