The figure of positive cases of COVID-19 in Banjarbaru increased by eight bringing the total number of positive cases of the deadly virus to 12.
Spokesman of the Banjarbaru COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force Rizana Mirza here on Saturday said, seven of the eight cases were residents who are now undergoing quarantine at the Ambulung Education and Training Center.
"Those who tested positive for Corona are Gowa cluster being quarantined at the Ambulung Education and Training Center, while the other one was infected by a positive patient from Landasan Ulin," he said.
According to the head of the Banjarbaru Health Agency, the positive results of eight patients were according to the swab test on Wednesday (April 15) on 24 Banjarbaru residents from Gowa cluster who were undergoing quarantine at the Ambulung.
He said, all these eight positive patients continued to undergo quarantine at the Ambulung until they are declared to be truly healthy.
"The consideration is their condition is healthy and stable, only their status is positively infected by Corona," he said.
According to the standard procedure, they will be separated from the other 17 residents of the Gowa cluster, who also are quarantined at the Ambulung. They will receive intensive care handled by doctors.
Meanwhile, the number of positive COVID-19 cases in South Kalimantan as announced by the COVID-19 Task Force on Saturday has increased by 15 cases to a total of 91 cases.
