The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) chapter of Indonesian Volunteers Community (MRI) and humanitarian organization Aksi Cepat Tanggap (MRI-ACT) distributed 115 boxes of meal and 150 face-masks for free in what so-called as free meal operation.
Chairman of HST MRI-ACT Mardani on Friday said the activity was to help people affected by the economy in meeting their basic needs.
"This activity also aims to raise people's concern and to mobilize massive collaboration in order to maintain the unity and integrity of the nation," he said.
The free food package and masks were given to pedicab drivers, parking workers, street vendors, and others who were deemed worthy of receiving.
"There are four points where we stop to provide assistance. Starting from Pasar Lama or Old Market (Murakata), Simpang Air Mancur, Baru Market, and workers at the Damanhuri District Hospital of Barabai," said Mardani.

"Today, from morning till afternoon I only got one passenger of my pedicab. I am so happy to receive this food package. Thank your MRI,” said Muhammad Yaman, one of pedicab drivers.
One fish trader in Baru Market, Fatimah said, the sale was not selling well and the household economy was affected.
Alfiyan, the hospital security, expressed his thanks to HST's MRI-ACT. "Hopefully MRI-ACT continues to advance," he hoped.
Mardani hoped the next activity will provide many benefits as possible and inspire the hearts of benefactors to become donors. "Hopefully our deeds will be our savings for the hereafter and blessed by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala," he concluded.
